Wedding gowns
A wedding gown often combines several fabrics, such as satin, tulle, lace, organza and chiffon, with beading, sequins, seed pearls and embroidery. Each needs different care, which is why gowns go to specialists rather than a standard cleaning cycle.
Even a gown that looks clean carries perspiration, body oils and makeup. Left for months, these oxidise into yellow or brown stains that become harder, and eventually impossible, to remove. That’s why we recommend bringing your gown in within two weeks of the wedding.
- Consultation. We review the gown with you: its fabrics, embellishments and any stains you know about.
- Inspection. Every part is checked under bright light, and loose beads or weak seams are noted before cleaning.
- Targeted stain removal. Wine, makeup, grass, food, perspiration and hem dirt are each treated with the right method for the stain and the fabric.
- Gentle cleaning. Dry cleaning, careful hand cleaning or a combination, depending on how the gown is made.
- Expert finishing. Tulle is steamed, not ironed; satin is pressed with a protective cloth; embroidery is worked around carefully.
Barong Tagalog
Whether it is piña, jusi or organza, a barong’s sheer fabric and hand embroidery need gentle handling. We dry clean barong rather than washing them in water, which can change the shape of delicate natural fibres, and press them at low heat with a protective cloth.
After a wedding or formal event, bring your barong in within a few days so perspiration and food marks don’t set. At home, hang it on a padded hanger in a breathable garment bag, away from direct sunlight, and avoid storing it in plastic for long. For more tips, read Paano Alagaan ang Iyong Barong Tagalog.
Filipiniana, terno and other formal wear
Terno and Filipiniana dresses have structured butterfly sleeves and delicate fabric that need expert pressing. We also clean Maria Clara dresses and other traditional garments, debut and evening gowns, graduation togas, and suits and tuxedos.
Gown preservation
If you want to keep your gown for years, to pass on or simply to protect it, we clean it thoroughly and pack it in acid-free tissue in an archival-quality storage box. Keep the box somewhere cool, dry and dark, and never store a gown in a plastic bag: plastic traps moisture and speeds up yellowing.
Before and after your event
- Blot spills with a clean white cloth. Don’t rub, which pushes the stain into the fibres.
- Don’t try home stain removers on silk, satin or embroidery.
- Tell our staff what caused each stain, so we can choose the right treatment.
- Remove plastic covers when you get your gown or barong home.
- Allow time before an event: wedding gown cleaning takes about 5–7 business days.

Frequently asked questions about gown and barong cleaning
How much does wedding gown cleaning cost? Pricing depends on the gown’s fabrics, length, embellishments and staining. Bring it to any branch for an assessment and a personal quotation.
How long does wedding gown cleaning take? About 5–7 business days, because of the multi-stage treatment. Rush service may be available before an event; ask at the branch.
Can you remove every stain? We get excellent results on most stains, especially fresh ones. Stains that have been heat-set or oxidised over many months may leave faint traces, and we’ll tell you honestly what we can achieve.
Do you clean barong and Filipiniana dresses? Yes. Barong, terno and Filipiniana attire need expert handling because of their delicate embroidery and sheer fabrics, and our IFI-trained team specialises in them.
Do you preserve wedding gowns? Yes. After cleaning, we pack your gown in acid-free tissue in an archival-quality storage box.
When should I bring my gown in after the wedding? Ideally within two weeks. Invisible stains from perspiration and body oils oxidise over time and become harder to remove.
