What we press
Every fabric needs its own heat, steam and pressure, so our pressers check the care label first and adjust for the fabric and trims.
- Shirts and polos: collar, cuffs, sleeves and body pressed in order, so creases stay out and the collar keeps its shape.
- Barong Tagalog: pressed by our most experienced finishers at low heat with a protective cloth, working around the embroidery. Piña, jusi and organza are never pressed directly.
- Pants and slacks: sharp, even front creases, with dark fabrics pressed from the inside so they don’t turn shiny.
- Uniforms and workwear: the consistent, crisp finish that is hard to get with a home iron, piece after piece.
- Dresses, gowns and Filipiniana: tulle is steamed, not ironed; satin is pressed with a protective cloth; butterfly sleeves get expert pressing. For full gown care, see wedding gown and barong cleaning.
- Suits and blazers: pressed to keep lapels, shoulders and structure in shape.
How professional pressing works
- Check the label and fabric. The care label tells us the safe temperature; the fabric and trims tell us whether to steam, press or both.
- Look for stains first. Heat sets stains, so a stained garment is cleaned before it is pressed. We’ll tell you if a piece needs washing or dry cleaning first.
- Steam and press. Dark fabrics are pressed from the inside to prevent shine, and pressing cloths protect wool, silk and delicate surfaces.
- Hang or fold. Finished garments go on hangers in breathable covers, or are neatly folded.
- Final check. If anything falls short of our standard, it goes back for re-pressing.
Why have your clothes pressed professionally
A home iron can’t match commercial steam pressing for speed or finish. Professional pressing saves you hours every week, gives sharper creases and smoother fabric, and avoids the scorch marks and shine that come from too much heat. It matters most for clothes that have to look their best: a barong for a wedding, a uniform for work, a suit for an interview.
Ironing tips for home
- Iron clothes while they are still slightly damp for the smoothest result.
- Follow the dots on the care label: one dot for low heat (silk, nylon, acrylic), two dots for medium (wool, polyester), three dots for high (cotton, linen).
- Iron dark clothes inside out to prevent shiny marks.
- Use a clean cotton pressing cloth on wool and delicate fabrics.
- Never iron over a stain: the heat sets it permanently.

Frequently asked questions about ironing
Can I bring clean clothes just for pressing? Yes. Every Royal Clean branch accepts clean clothes for pressing only. If a piece is stained or has been worn, we recommend washing or dry cleaning it first, because heat sets stains.
Do you press barong Tagalog? Yes. Barong is pressed by our most experienced finishers at low heat with a protective cloth, working around the embroidery. Piña, jusi and organza are never pressed directly.
How long does ironing take? Clothes dropped off before 10 AM can be ready the same day at every branch. The counter confirms your ready time when you drop off.
Do you offer pickup and delivery for ironing? Yes. Book a pickup through your nearest branch; see pickup and delivery for how it works.
How much does ironing cost? Prices depend on the garment, and the counter gives you an exact quote. We don’t publish a price list online.
Can you press uniforms in bulk? Yes. Bring them to any branch. For a regular schedule for your business, see commercial laundry.
